Ben is a trial attorney at the Gomez Law Firm devoted entirely to representing individuals who have suffered catastrophic personal injuries. Ben began working for the Gomez Law Firm in 2011 as a summer associate. He then continued with the firm as a law clerk. Ben has worked extensively on issues involving traumatic brain injuries. He believes strongly in giving his clients the personal attention necessary to achieve the justice they deserve.
Ben earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego’s School of Law. During law school, he focused on trial practice, competing on the University of San Diego’s National Mock Trial Team. Additionally, Ben was a teaching assistant for the lawyering skills program, after being named best overall advocate in his first year legal writing and research class. He has also volunteered for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy deposition seminar and is a member of Phi Delta Phi.
Prior to joining the Gomez Law Firm, Ben served as a law clerk for Grimes & Warwick, focusing on criminal defense. Working under Robert and Dana Grimes, Ben made numerous court appearances working on two trials. He also interned for former San Diego Padres Vice President/General Counsel Katie Pothier.
Before pursuing a career in law, Ben spent four years in the media relations department of the San Diego Padres, focusing on team publications, player and team public relations, and media relationships. Ben has also worked in public relations and marketing for Beaman Public Relations in Chicago, and the Chicago Bears. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
In his spare time, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife Kathleen, cooking, wine and cycling. Ben and Kathleen are both San Diego natives and believe strongly in giving back to the community. They are involved with several charitable organizations including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.
